The Battle of the Highstreet / Drugstore
Highstreet make up prices can be very varied, with brands such as NYC and MUA selling most of there products for under £5 and brands like Maybelline and Loreal who's majority of products are over £5 . I tested out Mascaras form both ends of the Highstreet to see how they did.
NYC
NYC Show Time
The mascara cost £1.99 and for £1.99 I don't mind it
when applying it be careful try not to fullter your eyelash because when its wet it does come off around the eye balls. When I used it for the first time I was running around and the mascarra smudged, but the second time I used I wasn't running around and set powder under eye and nothing smudged it didn't budge.
The mascara itself is pretty good, I don't know if the picture does it justice, Its not a dramatic mascara, I think it does more for lengthening rather than volume. It looks ok with a couple coats, so it is buildable. For £1.99 I think its pretty good.
Maybelline
Maybelline The Rocket
I first tried this a while ago (don't worry its my second tube) and it was my favorite mascara. Then I tried others and I forgot about this one. After trying other I found some that I liked more but they were more expensive. For while my eye lashes were acting strange when no matter what mascara I used it would smudge (this one included) . Now sometimes it smudges some time it doesn't. I will probably have to try the powder trick at some point
(Left is NYC - Right is Maybelline )
As you can see the NYC is more lengthening and stands out a bit more than Maybelline up close. but it does have its down falls, like smudging and it makes my eyelashes long thin and sparse but if you just take time applying it could probably look a lot better.
Conclusion
I think the NYC mascara is good its price. I like both so I will use both so it really does depend on what you want in a mascara.
