Mother Nature VS. Manufacture Round 5: Lush Caca Noir Henna VS. Garnier Olia Hair Dye

Hello Beautiful People!

Welcome to round 5 of Mother Nature VS. Manufacture!

In Mother-Nature’s corner...

(I'm so sorry but I got too excited and completely forgot to take a picture of the henna brick before I used it! But here is a link to the lush website... https://www.lush.co.uk/products/noir ...where you can take a look at the different henna colours they sell)

Name: Lush Henna Brick: Caca Noir
Brand: Lush
Price: £8.50
Size: 325g
Uses for this product: To intensely darken the hair whilst conditioning and nourishing through the added cocoa butter https://www.lush.co.uk/products/colour

Lush Caca Noir Henna:
-        In order to break down the brick of henna you have to place it in a clear heatproof bowl and pour boiling hot water onto it until it melts. The aim is to melt it into a creamy texture. It took a really long time to get it to the right consistency!

When it came to applying it I actually had to get my mum to help me because that’s how hard it was! I had to bend over the bath and the henna was going absolutely EVERYWHERE!
-
After the whole catastrophe of getting the henna on, I had to leave it on for FIVE HOURS! I’m still shocked at how long you have to wait for this to work. However, I do understand that it’s a natural product and so would take a bit longer than the manufactured product.
-
Washing this stuff out of my hair was a bit of a nightmare I’m not going to lie! Because I had to leave it in for so long the henna had become so hard and so I literally had to wait for the henna to melt using hot water on my hair. It took about 20 minutes to wash everything out of my hair.
-
Once I let my hair dry I didn’t really notice much of difference at first, but my family could definitely tell, and after a while so did I. However, this product did leave a very strong smell in my hair that I didn’t really like. I can still smell it now and I did this a couple days ago! As for the difference in overall feeling of my hair, I did find that it did make my hair feel a lot softer which I guess is down to the cocoa butter used in the product.

In Manufacture’s corner is...

Name: Garnier Olia- Deep Black (Now called Midnight Black 1.0)
Brand: Garnier
Price: £6.99 (now in Superdrug for £5.99)
Size: Developer Cream= 60g
         Colourant Cream= 60g
         Silk & Shine multi-application conditioner= 54ml
Uses for this product: To permanently darken the hair whilst improving the visible quality of the hair (such as shininess and smoothness)

Garnier Olia Hair Dye:
-       The mixing of this product was really simple! Just follow exactly what the instructions tell you and there should be no problems
-
The application process was SUPER easy! You literally just have to part your hair from back to front applying the mixture as you go along. And the product itself wasn’t thick or too thin that it drips everywhere
-        I had to leave the dye on for 30 minutes for it to develop properly which was great because I could just watch an episode of The Big Bang Theory and it would be done (hehe)
-
When it came to washing it out it didn’t take too long and it also came with a conditioner that you use after washing it out which was great
-       The look and feeling of my hair afterwards was amazing!! It felt sooo smooth and looked really bold! The smell was really nice too!

The Results...
This really is a tough one because I guess they both had pros and cons. However, I feel that the manufactured product did have a lot less cons.

Therefore, in this instance Manufacture has beaten Mother-Nature!

Thanks for reading guys!
Until next time...Lots of love, L xx
