Back to basics: Cotton Pads

Back to basics

I had this idea of trying out basic and value products. The reason why I wanted to do this is because I think I have the mind set of because it is very cheap it may not be as good because it's a lot cheaper than other products so I'm going to be swapping some of beauty products in my routine for basic and value products. I will looking at products from ranges like  Tesco value , Boots own  products like Boots essentials and Boots  Ingredients and Superdrug’s own brand. The reason i choose to keep it to those brands are  because they are more readily available then stores like Home barging and B&M. You never know if you are going to find a gem .. so lets get to it!!!

First up for the swap is cotton pads, cotton pads are a essential in many people routine for removing make up and applying Toners.  I have tried many brands and  I'm not a stranger to the Tesco value cotton pads I have used about 2 or 3 packets ,  they are very convenient to pick up in Tesco when shopping and you get 80 for 49p so that's less than a penny per pad!!

First Impression
They don't feel rough they are fine  to go around your face, roughly the same denseness of a normally cotton pad.
The Results

I used them to take off my make up tonight ,  I wasn't wearing much make up I had on foundation, a cheek high light and a non waterproof  mascara. On the left we have the Tesco basic and on the right we the Tesco range (£1 for 100). As you can see it took me the same amount of pads to take off my make up, they work just as well as each other but Tesco value are half the price (you do get 20 less) but the price is less than  half. I Think if you are using cotton pads this size maybe take a walk on the basic side because you and your bank balance may like it.

I think that is 1 point for basic !

Thank You for reading
