My New Skincare Additions

I feel as though I’ve come a long way from when I didn’t do much to take care of my skin to now where I pay close attention to what type of skin I have and what it needs to stay in good condition. In a previous blog post here I wrote about how I got rid of my terrible acne days and what products I used to do it. Recently I was doing some research on what new products were on the market that could help with preventing spots and break outs.

I feel like I’ve come across treasure! I picked up the Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser which claims to clear breakouts and cool skin from Boots. I was slightly nervous to try out this face wash just because I’m always weary about what I put on my face. But after using this just once I realised how great it was! I had a couple tiny little spots on my face at the time but after using this face wash they completely disappeared. It does have salicylic acid which could potentially make dry skin drier but because I have quite oily to combination skin it didn’t have that drying effect. When it said it cooled the skin I just thought it was another one of those products that claimed to do something but didn’t really. But when you put this on your face you will know exactly what I’m talking about! It’s almost as though it has a minty feel to it. So nice and refreshing, especially first thing in the morning!

I’ve read some of the reviews for this product and a lot of people have said that it burnt their eyes but I didn’t experience that at all. I think it might have just been the cooling feeling they felt that may have been close to their eyes. Any time I feel a spot coming on I make sure to wash my face with this and BAM it’s gone! All in all, I have to say that for as long as they keep making this face wash I’m going to keep on buying it. And for only £5 I don’t think it stretches the bank too far!

The next product I picked up was the Nivea Gently Exfoliating Scrub which is basically just a face exfoliating scrub. I feel like I’ve tried quite a few face scrubs but this one has definitely stood out for me. Just like it says on the bottle its super gentle on the skin but I find that it still works really well. There are some brands of exfoliating scrubs that are gentle to the skin which means the beads in the skin are really small. In my opinion, these small beaded scrubs don’t really work. I want a scrub that can do what I need it to do and this one definitely covers that. I really love the smell of this scrub too. It’s kind of like a sweet I used to have as a child!  Every time I use this it does give my skin that really pretty glow which is great, especially if I use it in the morning before my makeup routine. I will definitely keep buying this face scrub until I can find something that’s even more amazing!

Let me know in the comment section if there are any other skin care products that you use that you think are really great. I would love to try them out!

Thanks for reading, L xx
