Review: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

When the hype of beauty blenders and makeup sponges was about I never knew what all the fuss was about because I was so used to my makeup routine using brushes. Not knowing that all the while I was missing out on the amazing benefits!!! I was recently doing some online shopping on the Superdrug website wanting to buy the Real Techniques Core Collection brushes when I stumbled upon the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for £5.99. I purchased it thinking I would give it a try but I didn’t really have any high hopes for it.

I WAS SO WRONG! This has got to be the best makeup applicator I’ve ever used!! It’s really simple to use too which made me wonder why I was so reluctant to try it out and it’s great when it comes to contouring too. I’m so in love with this sponge just because it gives my skin kind of an airbrushed look and as I’m prone to dry skin sometimes it really takes that away and makes my skin look so much more dewy and nourished. I think because of the dampness in the sponge it adds extra moisture to the skin which you can never get tired of!

All you have to do is put it under running water for a little bit and then squeeze out any excess water so that the sponge becomes a little bit damp. You don’t want it too wet as it will take your make up off instead of blending it out. I normally put my concealer and foundation onto my skin using a brush first and then blend it out using the complexion sponge but you can do it any way you prefer.  Since the sponge has different sides, I prefer to use the pointed part under my eyes, around my nose, and around my mouth just because they are more detailed and I use the flat side for the rest of my face.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried out any other beauty sponges or beauty blenders and how they’ve worked for you. I’m so open to trying out more!

Thanks for reading

    1. I just read your review! It's really good :) that's really weird mine doesn't stain. I just clean it with a regular wash too. It might be the products you use it with. Hope you find a solution
